CreatorScout vs GameOutreach for indie game creator outreach (2026)
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Competitor details current as of October 2026. Verify on the vendor's site before making purchasing decisions.
CreatorScout and GameOutreach were the two closest outbound tools for indie game creator outreach: instead of waiting for creators to request keys, you start from a comparable Steam game and pull the channels that already covered it. GameOutreach did this for YouTube, returning a list of channels, stats and emails you export to CSV and work in your own spreadsheet. As of 20 July 2026, GameOutreach is closed to new accounts: existing users keep the searches and exports already in their account, but nobody can buy new searches. CreatorScout searches both YouTube and Twitch, ranks creators by a relevance score, extracts contact emails, and keeps the whole campaign inside a built-in outreach CRM — To contact → Key sent → Key viewed → Replied → Covered — with Steam-key tracking, notes, and a timeline per creator.
Side-by-side comparison
| Feature | CreatorScout | GameOutreach |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | Open to new users | Closed to new accounts since 20 July 2026; existing users keep their searches and exports but cannot buy new searches |
| Platforms covered | YouTube (Data API v3) + Twitch (Helix API) | YouTube channels (its guide does not mention Twitch) |
| Discovery method | Search by comparable game, filter by audience size, platform, language, and recency; results ranked by a relevance score | Pick a similar game; it shows every YouTube channel that covered it |
| Contact emails | Contact-email extraction per creator | Public plus CAPTCHA-gated emails, which its guide put at around half of 10k+ channels; emails and CSV export unlocked by a paid search |
| Outreach CRM / pipeline | Built-in pipeline: To contact → Key sent → Key viewed → Replied → Covered, with notes, timeline, and Steam-key tracking per creator | No built-in pipeline; its guide recommends tracking status in your own spreadsheet |
| Best for | Devs who want YouTube + Twitch discovery and want to run the whole outreach campaign inside one tool | Existing users working through searches already in their account |
When GameOutreach is the better fit
If you already have a GameOutreach account with searches or exports left, keep using them: its own notice says existing users can still access them. A spreadsheet with a Status column, the workflow its guide recommends, still works for that list. What GameOutreach can no longer do is sell you a new search or take a new account, so for your next game, or if you never signed up, you need an open tool. Where it always stopped short was Twitch coverage and integrated status tracking — if either matters, CreatorScout is built for that.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still sign up for GameOutreach?
No. GameOutreach's homepage says it is closed to new accounts as of 20 July 2026. Existing users can access the searches and exports already in their account but cannot purchase new searches.
What is the difference between CreatorScout and GameOutreach?
Both start from a comparable Steam game and surface creators who covered it. GameOutreach returned a YouTube channel list with stats and emails, which you export to CSV and manage yourself; it no longer accepts new accounts. CreatorScout searches both YouTube and Twitch, ranks creators by a relevance score, extracts contact emails, and keeps outreach inside a built-in CRM pipeline rather than a spreadsheet.
Does GameOutreach cover Twitch streamers?
Its guide describes finding YouTube channels only and does not mention Twitch. CreatorScout searches both YouTube (Data API v3) and Twitch (Helix API).
Does GameOutreach include an outreach CRM or pipeline?
No built-in pipeline. GameOutreach delivers a channel list you export to CSV, and its own guide recommends tracking outreach status (to email, emailed, replied, made video, declined) in a separate spreadsheet. CreatorScout replaces that spreadsheet with a built-in pipeline — To contact → Key sent → Key viewed → Replied → Covered — plus notes, a timeline, and Steam-key tracking per creator.
I have a GameOutreach export. Can I keep using it?
Yes. GameOutreach says existing users can still access their searches and exports. You can work that list as it is; for a new comparable game, or for Twitch creators, you need a tool that is still open to new searches.
